All of Aciturri's production plants obtain water from the municipality's sewage network, with the exception of Ayuelas and Ircio, which have authorized wells from the Confederación Hidrográfica del Ebro (Ebro Hydrographic Confederation).
All the plants discharge into the sewage network, generally complying with the legally established limitations in each of the physical locations. Specific deviations occurred at the Ayuelas facility in relation to chloride and conductivity discharges. For this reason, and in order to improve the quality of the discharge, some improvements have been made in the treatment plants.
The exact amount of discharge is not known since the plants do not have a discharge meter. However, it is estimated that it is practically the same as the water consumed.
Aciturri is aware that it does not have a discharge permit for the Alcalá de Guadaira facility and to remedy this, it is actively collaborating with the local administration to adopt the necessary measures to normalize this situation.
There are no water reuse processes.
The company is not aware of any bodies of water or habitats significantly affected by its activity.
Likewise, there have been no significant spills at any of the plants during 2022. In any case, in order to minimize the impact of spills, if they occur, periodic training actions are carried out with the workforce on how to act in the event of a spill. This ensures that, in the event of a spill, environmental and environmental risk prevention regulations will be complied with.
